This can't end wellOk, so I am way behind on several game reviews I have meant to do. This is partly because I am working my ass off trying to finish up everything I need to do here before I leave. Mostly, it's just because I am lazy and prefer playing games to writing about them.

That being said, some of those I have played recently deserve some press. The first of these is NHL 3 on 3 Arcade. I have to thank Aku for bringing this game to my attention. This came after a conversation I had with him regarding the lack of 'arcade feel' to the recent crop of hockey games. I have been enjoying them less and less because they are becoming more and more realistic. As Blackwalt can attest to, the NHL games of the mid 90's were the most fun. A bunch of guys (and gals) could get together, drink heavily and laugh themselves senseless playing those games. Guba sitting on the edge of the couch, screaming 'AAAALLLLL!!' as her Al MacInnis character crushes a hapless opponent into the boards comes to mind. Read more

The lastest update for NHL09 causes 'cache freezes' on the console.
You get the latest update you will need to 'clear the cache'
unfortunately this also clears the updates for all other games as well.

To clear the cache
Goto:
My Xbox
System Settings
Select Memory
Press Y for Devices
on the next screen make sure you have 'rename' highlighted
then press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X

I haven't found any kind of link describing this problem yet.
But the freezing stopped after I cleared the cache

I went to lunch today with some co-workers. It was me and 7 women from the department. Of course, the question arrises, so how does it feel to be out with your harem. Ha ha, laugh laugh, funny joke. After our meal, the waiter comes around asks us if we want some cofee or tea. I say no initially until he describes the tea. It is an Iranian tea, which is similar to Earl Gray with cardamon seeds. So last night I sent an email out to Graybush, Stormblade and Coxxorz. "You guys buying the new Call of Duty World at War downloadable Zombie Content?" Coxxorz, as usual, ignored me. Stormblade and Graybush both emailed separately that they had both paid the $10 the previous night and played it with each other for a couple of hours.

Fine. Microsoft gets another $10 bucks of my hard earned cash (shut it!) and I get another night of little to no sleep.

Well earlier in the month I thought there is a price cut on the horizon for the PS3 and Xbox 360. But apparently Nintendo is becoming a little greedy with raising their price of the Wii in the UK??

Interesting to see how that will impact everything.

Okay, this comes with a big caveat: you will likely need an original Xbox.

Factory Direct is selling Xbox Live 12-month subscription cards for $44.99 (original and 360). However, there is a coupon available that lowers the price of the original Live card to just $29.99, both in-store and online.

However, as many of you compulsive hoarders may already know, the original Live cards don't work with the 360. So if you've just bought an Xbox 360 but haven't transferred your account over yet, this is ideal for you. Otherwise, you'll need an Xbox 1 to recover your gamertag, apply the subscription code, and recover back to the 360. Read more
