Nintendo dominates Software charts in 2009

And probably hardware, but the stats haven't been released just yet. But if last month was any indication (7 million DS and Wii consoles combined), then they are the clear cut winner.

It's ironic how people blast Nintendo, but in actuality if it wasn't for them the games they play on other consoles wouldn't have even gotten the funding since the games industry would be broke!

From this article:

"NPD released a full-year list of the top ten U.S retail console games by units, a list heavily dominated by Nintendo. The publisher was responsible for seven of the top ten titles for the year, six of which were released for Wii."

The list of the top-selling U.S. game console retail titles in 2009 is as follows:

1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Infinity Ward, Activision), Xbox 360
2. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), Wii
3. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo), Wii
4. Wii Fit (Nintendo), Wii
5. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo), Wii
6. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo), Wii
7. Wii Play (Nintendo), Wii
8. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Infinity Ward, Activision), PlayStation 3
9. Halo 3: ODST (Bungie, Microsoft), Xbox 360
10. Pokemon Platinum Version (Nintendo), NDS
