Have to work on Monday because your holiday was on Friday instead?
When a holiday falls on a weekend, we get to take it as a "floater" day off any time. Two people here (out of 4) just assumed we got the following Monday off automatically - like the government - despite one of them having worked here over 20 years. The third person just called in sick.
Funny part is I was also alone on Friday, because everyone got to go home early... before the late shift even arrived. No one bothered to tell me.
