What would Billy Boucher think? It's been 83 years since the no. 13 has been worn by a member of Les Glorieux. And by a Swede? By the ex-Captain of the Laffs? It's not like the treachery hasn't happened before. Frank Mahovlich did it (albeit separated by a brief stint in Detroit). Even Dougie did it. Why not Mats?
He won't fit in Billy's sweater though. Mats is 10 inches taller and 75 pounds heavier.
The globe crest on the sweater? That's because they had just one the Stanley Cup 'World Championship'. They went on to win it 21 times after the photo was taken. Maybe Mats can help make it 22.
He certainly would be closer to it than if he stayed with the Buds.

he is a bit light in the loafers. He is not outright flaming gay looking, but still you have to wonder when you see this picture.

As any of the old pictures from any of the sports from any country from 80 years ago. That was the look back then. No steroyds, lots of Brill Cream, no padding and paid pennies to play (even after adjusting for inflation, athletes 80 years ago got nowhere near the amount of compensation that todays pros / whinners get. I must say thought that those old leather helmets / caps that footbal players wore had a certain "style".

It's hockey which means nothing to me. Sort of like Apple computers, etc.
