Rumour: $99 iPhone coming to Wal-Mart

By Blackwalt - Posted on 04 December 2008

Coxxorz must be sleeping - can't believe I got to this first

The Boy Genius Report is reporting that Wal-Mart and Apple are buddying up to get iPhones out to Wal-Mart's customer base.

4GB is certainly enough for some songs and short music videos, but let’s not kid ourselves. Anyone looking to spend $99 on an iPhone probably doesn’t care that much about storage anyway and they’ll be more than happy to drop that amount for one of the best-selling smartphones in the country.

A little late for the Zombie Apocalypse but you never know...

I had meant to post this earlier and forgot. Coxxorz's reference to it last night and Stormblade's complete bewilderment reminded me.

Yes, after 5 longs years of work (ok, 6 months of work surrounded by 4 1/2 years of procrastination), I have finally finished my first novel, The Emperor's Opal. Read more

Complete gaming system for $259

By Coxxorz - Posted on 03 December 2008

You read that right! For the low, low price of just $259, you can buy a brand new next generation gaming rig, complete with 19" widescreen monitor from PC Cyber.

Better hurry though, they're selling out fast! Sorry, no idea if it includes an operating system. But look at that case! That just has to be genuine plastic.

Left 4 Dead movie posters

By Blackwalt - Posted on 02 December 2008

Now available at the Valve Store

Valve Software is now selling Left 4 Dead movie posters. The same ones you see when the chapter loads in game.

$6.99 each or $14.99 for all four. 18" x 24".

As a special HoC bonus if you order any I will personally use a sharpie to write in MoriceRevek underneath all images of Zoey.

Two great tastes...

By Blackwalt - Posted on 02 December 2008

Beer and TV

What bothers me most about this is that I know Stormblade has one on back order.

Of course, the football will be replaced with hockey and the beer will be replaced with, well, beer.

Too much Zombie Killing not enough Gears of War 2.

November's Top Picks

By Blackwalt - Posted on 01 December 2008

Five pages of our pointless content for November, including Zombie Week:

    Disqualified Story, no reason:

Top November Stories by Read count:

    • 123 reads - Lining up for Gears of War 2
    • 118 reads - Bring on the Keflings!
    • 115 reads - I gotta ask...

Our top three read counts are all over 100 again. Coxxorz's adventure in midnight openings, MoriceRevek's much abused Keflings review (both author and review), and Akufadumamai totally missing the point of Zombie Week. Really, what's with that?

Swag's Classic Clip: J.C.V.D. Trailer!

Yeah, it's not exactly classic yet, but it will be.

I'll be seeing this on the weekend...

A typical day

By Blackwalt - Posted on 27 November 2008

For a working dad gamer

Gamers with Jobs writer Julian Murdoch has an article which lists a chronology of his average day with his job, kids, wife and games. It is possible.

I like his comment about family time:

“Yes, Jessica, playing LittleBigPlanet with Todd in San Francisco counts as sacred family time if I have the kids on the couch with me. Sackboy wrestling does not count as violence.”

Bring on the Keflings!

By MauriceRevek - Posted on 26 November 2008

Tired of running amok in a first person world and shooting everything that moves?

Tired of seeing bits of brains splattered against the wall?

Tired of violence in general?

Then try this wonderful little Arcade game called Keflings.

What is this game you say? Well think of all of the RTS games you used to play, where you have to gather different resource types, summon resource gatherers and build your base, minus all of the violence.

Well, maybe not all. You can kick your Keflings if you feel that they are not performing up to your high (or low) standards. Read more
