New Nazi Zombie map in CoD: WaW downloadable content

By Blackwalt - Posted on 19 March 2009

I'm all for another Zombie map but enough with the cash grab already

The new DLC for Call of Duty World at War is out and as well as three regular multiplayer maps they are including an additional map for the Nazi Zombie mode.

From the Xbox Marketplace entry:

...the Nazi Zombies return in "Verruckt" (Zombie Asylum) featuring more weapons, new Perks-a-Cola machines and electroshock defenses.

Now all of this sounds good. Really good. Really, really good.

But, you say, what's the catch Blackwalt? Blackwalt tell us the truth! We can take it. Tell us the bad news...

Well, since you ask....

Once again in Microsoft's denial that there is a minor economic hiccup affecting the world they have set the price at an amazingly high 800 Microsoft Points.

800! That's the price for most of their XBLA games. Full games!

That's 10 bucks for four maps. And yes, I am thinking of paying it. This despite the fact that I will never see three of the four maps. That's right, Zombie mode only, I'm never leaving it. That's the only part of the DLC that I have the slightest interest in.

Now I know that Call of Duty World at War is a good game, but it wasn't a great game as in the case of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. In fact, if it wasn't for Nazi Zombie mode we would have stopped playing it shortly after it came out. One month was enough. Not like Call of Duty World at War where one year wasn't enough.

Here's more info on the new Zombie mode stolen from We the Gamerz

List of known Verrückt nazi zombie map features:

New perk a cola system (Need to turn on generator for machines to work)

  • Double Tap Root Beer - Fire faster
  • Speed Cola - Reload Faster
  • Revive Soda - Revive Teammates Quickly
  • "Unknown name" - Juggernaut perk

(you can have more than one perk on at a time in Verrukt)

Electroshock Defenses

  • After turning on the generator, the defenses become enabled, narrowing the entrances for zombies. There are multiple switches for the defenses.

Other

  • The game starts with players split up into two groups, so you must work toward each other.

Known Weapons

  • BOUNCING BETTIES - Cost 1000
  • STG44 - Costs 1200
  • PPsH - in the random box
  • MP40 on the wall...
  • (I swear I see a type 99 on the wall)
  • (not sure what it is, but its definitely a new weapon. Hard to get a good view of it in the video)
  • Plenty of old weapons.
In the middle of writing this post Coxxorz sent me this:
Crap, the zombie map sounds good.

and he linked the trailer.

Coincidence?

So what are your thoughts? Are we going to play Zombie mode for our full $10 worth? Are we going to wait for a price drop? Or are we going to trade in all our copies of Call of Duty World at War and wait for the FREE (yes, free) DLC for Left 4 Dead?

Be sure to share your thought in the comments...

Now we just need to get Coxxorz off of his cheap ass. Or maybe Troll will buy it so we can have a fourth. I'm buying it today.
