Honey Badgers are vicious enough, yet I weaponized one

Far Cry 4 Diaries #3

Form the IGN Far Cry 4 Wiki:

If not the most ferocious animal in Kyrat the Honey Badger is the most annoying. Due to their small size, agility, high damage and tendency to travel in small groups a fight with one is a fight indeed. Honey Badger's are also widespread across Kyrat residing in every region. Honey Badger skins are also needed for the tier 3 weapon holster and quiver.

So, of course, I weaponized one of them with a mine:

Here is how it happened. Last night Coxxorz and I attempted the Shanath Training Ground Hunting survival quest. Your mission is to keep three civilians alive during an attack by honey badgers. We learned previously that it is an effective strategy to seed the incoming paths with mines so the attacking animals set them off and never get to the civilians.

When the first honey badger tripped a mine and blew up, this seemed like a workable strategy. Until I tried to replace the expended mine. You can see the result of my poor throw in the video above. I ended up sticking my mine onto an incoming honey badger who, now armed, proceeded to attack a civilian just as the mine exploded. The explosion killed two (of three) civilians, the honey badger, and almost Blackwalt. I managed to heal myself right before we lost the third civilian and this attempt at the mission.

More antics after the break.

Bang! Zoom! To the moon!

Coxxorz named this honey badger Alice. Right before he fired his rocket launcher at it.

For this Hunting Survival mission they provide you with rocket launchers. Coxxorz grabbed one and climbed on top of a nearby building. From here he fired rockets at the incoming honey badgers. You can see an entertaining result in the following video.

Just shoot them with the sidearm shotgun. They die. The villagers don't. Quest won.

Or the MG42.

But, strangely enough, Coxxorz and I wanted to play the fun way. Your shotgun would have finished the mission and you could have moved on quickly but it would have put anyone watching to sleep. Boring.

Would you have stuck a mine to a honey badger? No. Would you have launched a honey badger into low earth orbit? No. That's gold right there.

I think I will stick to playing my games for fun, not just trying to finish them as fast as possible.

Remember kids, video games are supposed to be fun.

Finishing the game is fun! Picking off every bad guy in a base with a silenced sniper rifle and a crossbow is fun! Trying to plant a mine on an animal is ... odd.

But the beauty of this game is that you don't always have to.

Did you know mines could be stuck to animals before? That small vehicles can be driven onto boats? That giant crocodiles devouring Blackwalt are hilarious? Now you know!

Thanks, science!

I'll give you that last one. That would be hilarious. How come there's no video?

Coxxorz's picture

But honestly I was laughing too hard to even think of recording it anyway.

For the record, we did not even know there were crocs in the game, and I haven't seen any since!

Although my favourite part was the guy on the radio dispatching us to the mission location:

"Watch out, they're pretty badass and they don't give a shit."

Classic.
